I took a Film Studies class in 2011, which awakened my dormant sense of visual storytelling. Since then, I've been experimenting with the camera, initially using my cellphone to capture places and people that spoke to me. A few years ago, I started using a professional camera.
I have worked as a senior correspondent with Governance Now, a bi-weekly magazine in New Delhi, India. As an independent journalist, I have worked with various Indian and international publications.
I have received grants from the Earth Journalism Network, Thomson Reuters Foundation, and the International Centre for Journalists for my reporting projects.
I write about health, science, environment, gender, justice, rights, business and culture. I graduated with an MS in Journalism from the Medill School of Journalism, Northwestern University. For my writing portfolio, please visit http://www.pujabhattacharjee.com
